Thanksgiving

Well, it is the day after Thanksgiving and I am most thankful for the load that took us over the mountains to see Jeff's family. We had been planning on stopping for a couple hours at a truck stop for dinner on Thursday, so what a surprise when we were asked to take a load to Hill AFB in Roy, UT. The storm was so bad that the team that was supposed to take it couldn't make it back in time. We asked if we could go ahead and take Thursday off, and our boss agreed. It took us over 24 hours to go 724 miles, but we made it safe and sound. We did have to put chains on to get across Donner Pass after the road opened back up. Oh, well. Maybe that will be the last time. (ha! ha!) I'm am sitting in Fernley, NV right now taking a break. The sky is beautiful, the snow is beautiful on the hills and the roads are clear. This is why I love driving truck. The temperature is/ has been in the single digits but will get to the teens here shortly. But then I'm going back over the mountains into Sunny warmer California. It will be good to run home and check on the cats. I love going home to wonderful warm furry things. They are both very loving and both love to sit on your lap. Then it will be off to Ft Lewis in Tacoma, WA. Hope we will be able to see the grandkids Saturday. Well, I better get going.
